2016 Conference Archives




The ubiquity of media has changed the way our students read, learn, and gather information. It only makes sense, therefore, to meet students on their “territory,” the world of media, and build instruction there. This presentation demonstrates how the use of video, both short fiction and short documentary, has provided opportunities for students to develop skills and facility in critical literacy and has added to their overall schemata, while appealing to different learning modalities.
